Poetry
Flight
The breeze picked up and rushed through the trees, shaking them violently –
dancing with the supple leaves –
winding through the maze of wood and fluid –
past rings of time and on to rustling grains of sand.
The sky fell sullen –
swimming far below, their limbs entwined through flowing water –
awakening strands of life like pearls enfolding forms in time.
She rose from his reaching arms as he looked on with wonder –
floating endlessly past stars like seagulls –
touching the wind as it swept through her hair and into her pores.
He called to her and melodies rang from his lips –
encircling his head and leaping through the clouds.
She heard his lilting words go swimming through her mind –
engaging her thoughts as they ran rampant past her eyes –
enticing senses to reawaken buried feelings deep inside.
Alone –
she fell –
swinging gracefully into his open arms –
touching –
caressing –
lost. . .
