The Death of Adonis

He spread his arms and engulfed the world in his grasp.

He reached out –
secure –
in control –
the master –
frightened.

Love flew in his life and caressed his supple mind and luminous form.

Cries rang silently forth from his thoughts –
emitting joy –
emitting pain –
emitting life.

The glistening lights echoed in his eyes –
Tranquil and turbulent at the same time –
encasing worlds of vision and truth.

Glowing auras –
rippling –
pulsing –
reaching out –
enveloping him in a force-field cage.

He fell with finality to the crashing tidal waves below.

The cliffs surrounded his broken, fetal form.

Lost in the dawn.
