Bubbling Brook (a Sonnet)

Entwining reeds wrap carelessly around
the floating lily pads of pink and green
as buds stretch endlessly t’wards newly found
criterion for life and growth unseen.

Refreshing ripples drift by lazing birds
enjoying cooling breezes in the shade
of willows dancing in the wind. The words
that only murmur thoughts unspoken – fade.

Emancipating waves rush over stones
of varied sorts and shapes, enticing sides
once roughly hewn to smooth. An echoed groan
of pain floats upward now and hides.

Genteelly fashioned blossoms fade and die.
Omnipotently onward, visions fly.
