All the Bs

Birds, bunnies, and butterflies
Squirrels with bad attitudes
Bogarting the bounty of seed
Above and below

Bees abuzz – bumble and black, big and busy
Dragonflies dive-bombing bugs

When white-winged doves bully their way onto the bird-feeders
Even the blue jays back off

Bright-colored butterflies are ballerinas
The black-beaked sparrows bask in the sunbeams
And black-winged grackles breakdance
While itty-bitty hummingbirds do aerobatics

Bouncing bunnies
Big and small
Buddies and babies – bounding around
Or hiding beneath the berry-filled bush

Buoyant clouds drifting by on the breeze
Brilliant, bright skies, and buzzards up high
Barely-seen airplanes sweep past
As they head for beyond

Beautiful flowers surround the borders
Their blooms are blue or ablaze in red
Standing tall before the brown-hued fence
Bearing witness to their sweet nectar

The sounds of nature are occasionally broken
By barking dogs and garbage trucks
But windchimes bring back their songs
And return things to baseline

Take in a breath
Take in the beauty
Take in the stillness
Yes – that’s better

Biorhythms and body rhythms – both
Breakfast in the backyard
Before getting back to business
Blessed.
